-
Therapy (or psychotherapy) is a collaborative process with a trained mental health professional to explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. It can help you better understand yourself, develop coping strategies, improve relationships, and work through emotional difficulties like stress, anxiety, depression, or trauma.
-
You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, struggling with your mood, relationships, or facing a major life change, therapy can help. Think of it as a support for your mental well-being—just like going to the gym is for physical health.
-
In your first session, your therapist will ask about your concerns, personal history, and what you’d like to achieve in therapy. It’s a chance to build rapport and set goals. It’s also okay if you’re unsure—your therapist will guide you through the process.
-
Yes, therapy is confidential. Your information is protected and will not be shared without your consent. The only exceptions are if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or if required by law.
-
It varies. Some people benefit from short-term therapy (e.g., 6–12 sessions), while others may choose longer-term support depending on their needs and goals. Your therapist will discuss a suitable plan with you.
-
We use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Play Therapy, and other psychological therapies, tailored to your specific concerns and preferences.
-
Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that allows clients to express and explore their feelings, thoughts, and experiences through art. It’s not about being good at art; rather, a professional art therapist uses various art media and creative processes, integrated with psychological principles, to achieve therapeutic benefits for mental health.
-
Yes, online therapy is available and can be effective. However, we recommend in-person sessions when possible, as they may offer a deeper therapeutic experience and stronger connection.
