Unplug, Breathe, Reconnect: Practicing Mindfulness in a Digital World with OURI x Warm Wishes
In a digital world that constantly demands us to adapt and learn, it’s only natural to sometimes feel overwhelmed and unable to find time to simply pause. Together with Warm Wishes, OURI presents the ‘Digital Detox & Mindfulness’ workshop on June 13, 2026, to help us reconnect with our thoughts and feelings in the present moment, without worrying about the past or the future. Through a series of complementary sessions, participants were invited to gradually step away from the noise of the digital world and reconnect with themselves.
Guided Breathing Technique for Calmer Mind

The session opened with an explanation from Asaelia Aleeza, M.Sc., M.Psi., Psikolog on the box breathing technique, which helps deactivate the body’s ‘fight-or-flight’ response. Participants were guided to sit, tune into their heartbeat, and match their inhales and exhales to a steady 4-second count.
Beyond breathing exercises, the session continued with the 5-4-3-2-1 technique to help ease stress, panic attacks, or racing thoughts by engaging all five senses: 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste. The hope is that these insights and practical tips can help participants feel fully present in the real world again, away from screen distractions and endless notifications.
Sensory Art Workshop

Following the psychoeducation on breathing techniques and grounding, the session moved into a more hands-on grounding method through a sensory art workshop facilitated by Therapist Fauzia Ramadhani S.Psi., M.A. AThR. While the previous session trained awareness through breath and the senses, this time participants were invited to create freely without a set theme, using a variety of textured materials such as yarn, clay, pipe cleaners, felt, and cotton. Through direct touch with these materials, sensory art became a tactile, visual, and rhythmic medium to bring the mind back to the present physical world — an experience far removed from screens, far from scrolling, and fully grounded in the here and now.
The session came to a warm close with a tea chat alongside Dipa Karno from Warm Wishes. Over a warm cup of tea, participants shared stories and experiences with one another in a calm and heartfelt atmosphere. There was something soothing about this simple moment — sitting together, listening, and being listened to, free from the pull of phones or competing notifications. A gentle reminder that in an increasingly digital world, we don’t have to face everything alone — and that connecting with others, genuinely and attentively, can be one of the most sincere forms of self-care.
