OURI’s Therapeutic Open Art Studio: When Art Expresses The Heart and Mind
Art can become a powerful bridge to express what’s inside the heart and the mind—especially when words feel limited. Through colors, shapes, and textures, we sometimes express what feels difficult to say out loud.
On January 24, February 7, and February 14, OURI Mind Care and Support opened a therapeutic open art studio guided by our certified Art Therapist, Fauzia Ramadhani, S.Psi., M.A., AThR.
This space is dedicated for young adults who are curious about self-exploration through art, want a gentle break from daily stress, or seek a fun and non-judgemental creative self-care activity.
What Is an Art Therapist–Facilitated Open Art Studio?

Unlike a regular art class, this is an art therapist-facilitated space where creativity is integrated with psychological principles to support mental health and emotional well-being.
At our open art studio, participants are free to decide what to create, how long to stay, and whether or not they want to share with others. Various art supplies are provided on our Art Buffet, so participants don’t need to bring any equipment– they can just choose whatever they want to use.
In this studio, art is not about producing a perfect outcome. It is about the process of creating, exploring, and expressing. Here, our art therapist, Fauzia, facilitated by creating a safe and comfortable space for everyone to explore art in their own way, building confidence by letting every person make their own choices, and encouraging reflection and deeper self-understanding through the process of art making. During the process, every participant was welcomed to have a conversation or reflection with our art therapist at any time, whenever they felt ready.
So, what you will experience is a process that is guided, but not directed – something that belongs to you.
Across the three sessions—including our special Valentine’s edition themed Self-Love—we are truly grateful to witness young adults allowing themselves to slow down, create freely, and gently pour out what was inside their minds and hearts.
For many, the Open Art Studio and therapeutic art invites them to reconnect with themselves—not through pressure, but through presence.
