Discovery Space at Patio by Plataran: The Inner Compass – Finding Meaning & Values During Life Transition
Entering your 20s (and even until your 30s) often means stepping into a season of profound life transitions. From graduating and starting a career, changing jobs, getting married, becoming a new parent, to navigating other major milestones—this phase can feel both exciting and overwhelming.
If you’ve ever felt lost, uncertain, or questioned your direction during these changes, you’re not alone. Many young adults experience similar emotional challenges during transitional periods.
To support young adults in navigating these moments with greater clarity and confidence, OURI Mind Care and Support held a Discovery Space workshop in collaboration with Patio by Plataran on Saturday, 31 January 2026, led by our adult clinical psychologist, Rinda A’anisah, M.Psi., Psikolog.

Understanding Life Transition, Values, Mindfulness and Psychological Flexibility During Change
The workshop began with a simple yet powerful reflective exercise. Participants were invited to identify: two stable aspects of their lives and one significant change they are currently experiencing. This activity gently highlighted what feels secure versus what feels uncertain—an important first step in understanding our emotional responses during change.
During the psychoeducation session, psychologist Rinda explained the psychological process behind navigating life transitions, defining values, and the role of mindfulness during moments of instability. She emphasized the importance of having psychological flexibility—the ability to: stay present in the moment, open up to experiences (even difficult ones), and still take steps that align with your personal values.
She helped participants cultivate two key ingredients to build psychological flexibility: through mindfulness and knowing your values.
Discovering Your Inner Compass: Clarifying Personal Values
Through a guided worksheet titled “What Are My Values?”, participants were given structured reflective prompts to explore what truly matters to them.
Once participants clarified their values, they were invited to create a digital values board—a personalized visual reminder of their inner compass. Using images, words, symbols, and graphics, they expressed their core values creatively in a format they could revisit anytime they need to refocus.
Some participants shared the values board they created, the meaningful touch and reflection behind each element they put. Through listening to one another’s reflections, participants can learn and feel more empowered to know that they’re not alone in their struggles and uncertainties.

The workshop ended with a warm photo session and a “Tea Talk” short consultation opportunity with Psychologist Rinda.
We hope this workshop offers each participant meaningful reflections and practical tools to rediscover and realign with their core values—so they can move forward with greater intention, clarity, and confidence in the direction they choose to take.
At OURI Mind Care and Support, we believe that during every life transition, you already carry an inner compass within you. What we offer here is simply the space people need to rediscover it.
